Ten Goals For the Next Ten Years

Audio Recovery: the preservation and remastering in multiple analog and
digital formats of 10,000 sound recordings in the Vajradhatu Archives,
including dharma talks by Vidyadhara the Venerable Chögyam Trungpa,
Rinpoche; Vajra Regent Ösel Tendzin; Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche; His
Holiness the XVIth Gyalwa Karmapa; His Holiness Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche;
His Eminence Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche; His Eminence Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso,
Rinpoche; and many others.

The Dharma Ocean Trust: the establishment of an endowment fund for the
preservation, publication and translation of the dharma teachings of Chögyam
Trungpa, Rinpoche and other teachers.

Archival Facility: expansion of the current facilities of the Shambhala
Archives to include additional storage vaults, a special cold storage vault
for film and photographs, a room for patrons of the Archives, offices for
staff, and an exhibition room.

Collection Guide: completion of the arrangement and description of all
archival holdings related to the life and teachings of Chögyam Trungpa,
Rinpoche, and publication of a repository guide to these holdings, in paper
and electronic form.

Transcription: transcription of all sound recordings of the lectures of
Chögyam Trungpa, Rinpoche, creation of archival quality paper copies
of these transcripts for storage in several locations, and publication
of these transcripts in electronic form.

Photography and Visual Art: completion of the rehousing, inventory and
description of the more than 25,000 photographs and visual images in the
Archives. Soliciting donations of additional photographic material related
to the life of Chögyam Trungpa, Rinpoche, and other teachers. Providing
digital access to photographs and visual art. Construction of a cold storage
vault for photographic negatives, increasing their life expectancy by several
hundred years.

Film and Video: inventory, arrangement and description of all of the film
and video holdings in the Archives. Creation of access copies of important
holdings for use by researchers. Construction of a cold storage vault for
film negatives, increasing their life expectancy by several hundred years.

Paper Documents: completion of the inventory, arrangement and description
of all paper documents related to the life of Chögyam Trungpa, Rinpoche.
Instituting a program of Records Management for Shambhala International
and its constituent organizations.

Poetry and Manuscripts: inventory, arrangement and description of the more
than 1,000 poems and other manuscripts of Chögyam Trungpa and access
to these materials via appropriate finding aids.

Oral History: continuing to collect interviews with students of Chögyam
Trungpa. Transcription of these interviews and making transcripts available
to researchers.
