This rupa of Padmasambhava was carved by one of his chief disciples,
Ngungma. The statue changes color with the waxing and waning of the
moon, from red to white. Carved out of soapstone very much in the
likeness of Padmasambhava, it is said to contain relics of Padmasambhava
inside it.
If you come into contact with this particular rupa, it brings what
is called, "The power of Hayagriva." Hayagriva is one of
the eight aspects of the mahayoga of the Nyingma tantra. This particular
yidam, Hayagriva, has a horse's head. When this horse neighs, the
neigh is said to wake you up.
