The 16th Gyalwa Karmapa with Trungpa Rinpoche and the Vajra Regent Osel Tendzin in 1974. The room in which this photo was taken was converted rather quickly, and at great loss of sleep, into what several people have described as a jewel box. The walls were entirely covered in a yellow-gold satin, and the room proper transformed in to a tradtional interview room suitable for the head of the Kagyu lineage. This photograph is from the holdings of the Shambhala Archives. The photographer is unknown, and duplication is by written permission only.
