The Shambhala Archives' Facility
In 1990, the Archives renovated space in the headquarters of its parent
organization, Shambhala International. As part of the renovations, a low
cost system for the control of temperature and humidity was installed.
The physical facilities of the Archives include:
-
A 400 square foot vault for the storage of archival material, which is
kept at 35% humidity and 18 degrees C.
-
A 400 square foot work room containing equipment for reformatting and recovery
of various audio and video formats, as well as multi purpose work space.
-
Two small administrative offices for the use of staff.
-
See the technical paper on the construction of
our vault, which was presented at the 1992 meetings of the Association
of Moving Image Archivists.
